Roste Chocolate House

A pairing inspired by art
This pairing brings together chocolate and visual form in a shared act of intention. The work by Korber, Striving Forward…Regardless of Overwhelming Challenges, centers on balance, resistance, and movement through adversity. To accompany it, Roste crafted a chocolate using cocoa beans from Haiti PISA—an origin that has worked to reduce structural inequities and promote economic justice while producing fine-flavor cacao. Strength, resilience, and purpose resonate across both mediums— activating a conversation between visual and sensory experience.
Roste is a locally owned and operated chocolate house in Portland. Founded in 2020, Roste specializes in single-origin chocolate made onsite from cocoa beans imported from around the world. They are known for their fine chocolates and dedication to master craftsmanship.
The idea of pairing chocolate with visual art was first introduced during the opening of Korber’s Portland studio, which was celebrated as “a collaborative evening where art meets craft.” That event featured original paintings matched with a custom-made chocolate, a sensory concept that continues to inspire.
