poetry
When language shapes the visual
Puerto Rican poet Lady Lee Andrews and Korber first met in the 1990s, and their creative connection has continued across decades of friendship and artistic exchange. Lady recited her “A Poem to an Artist,” written for Korber, at the opening of his retrospective at Museo de las Américas—underscoring how deeply intertwined their creative trajectories have become over time.
Suspira (“Breathe”) marks the beginning of a new series that brings Korber’s paintings into direct dialogue with Lady’s poetry. This evolving body of visual-poetic pairings will culminate in a museum exhibition planned for 2026 in San Juan, Puerto Rico.
